Ekemini Uwan (pronounced Eh-keh-mi-knee Oo-wan) is a public theologian, international human rights activist, and co-author of the NAACP Image Award Nominated book Truth’s Table: Black Women’s Musings on Life, Love, and Liberation. She co-hosts the award-winning podcast Truth's Table and Get In The Word With Truth’s Table. Uwan is a 2022 Aspen Ideas Festival Fellow, and a 2023 - 2024 fellow at The Aspen Institute, who served as the Special Advisor for The Aspen Institute’s Racial Justice and Religion Collective. In addition to being an NAACP Image Award Nominated Author for Outstanding Literary Work, Ekemini is a former contributing writer for Hallmark Mahogany and a charter member of The International Civil Working Group of the Permanent Forum for People of African Descent at the United Nations.
